Children and young people

Supporting natural processes of growth, development and healing

While we all have the capacity to use creative processes therapeutically, children and young people do this naturally. For them, creativity and imaginative play are innate ways to explore and make sense of themselves and the world around them. While talk therapies can sometimes feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable, creative approaches often feel natural, safe, and engaging.

Art + Sandplay therapy
From 6 years to adolescents

Children and young people inherently use creativity as a means of emotional expression, communication, self-regulation, trauma processing, and healing. It also serves as a way for them to explore and shape their identity and make sense of the world around them. Art and sandplay therapy support these natural processes, facilitating change that is initiated by the young person—making the change both real and lasting.

My approach to working
with children and young people

I work with children from the age of 6 through adolescence, using a child‑centred and non‑directive approach. This means I support each young person in choosing what they would like to create and explore during each session. By allowing children and young people to focus on the themes most relevant to them, the therapeutic process nurtures their natural growth and development, fostering meaningful and lasting change.
